Injectable Wrinkle Treatments
Injectable wrinkle treatments are performed in the office generally with no "downtime" allowing immediate return to normal activity. The treatment needs to be custom designed for your face, skin type, and overall goals. Dr. McCafferty will recommend one or perhaps a combination of injectable wrinkle treatments after your evaluation.
Botox®
Botox® is a completely safe, FDA approved, medication that smoothes lines and unwanted wrinkles around the eyes, eyebrows, forehead, and mouth. Our injection technique will give you a natural, refreshed, less tired, angry look while not interfering with your normal animation. Treatment takes only a few minutes to complete, causes little discomfort, and no recovery time is necessary. Results begin to be visible within a few days and typically last 3-4 months.
Dysport
Prescription Dysport is an FDA approved injection used to temporarily improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face. The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas. Treatment takes only a few minutes and causes little discomfort. Results are visible within a few days and typically last 3-4 months.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found within our skin and commonly known by the product trade names Restylane®, Perlane®, Juvederm® and Prevelle®. These are very popular and effective FDA approved soft tissue fillers to manage wrinkles, fine lines, contour irregularities, and volume depletion of the face, cheek folds, and lips. Hyaluronic acid, utilizing an ultra fine needle, is injected directly under the skin in tiny amounts attracting water within the skin, which fills out the lines on the skin surface and creates a more youthful appearance. It can also be used to create fuller cheeks and lips.
The procedure is quick to perform, results are immediate, and last up to 6 months. No recovery time is necessary.
Fat Injection
Your own body fat can be a good source for filling wrinkles, folds, and depressions, of the face or any area on the body. Frequently, fat is used to plump the cheek fold and lips. Fat injection (autologous fat transplantation) removes fat cells from one part of the body such as the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs and places it in areas of need with very small and specialized cannulas. This is a very natural, non-allergenic office procedure with very little or no downtime. Fat injections are not permanent, with longevity varying significantly from patient to patient. However, the fat injected has the potential to last much longer than other products. Fat injection can be an attractive and cost effective alternative if combined with other procedures such as liposuction.
